Vintage Zenith El Primero A386 sold on watchPool24

Zenith El Primero is THE cult watch from Zenith. Appeared in 1969 as one of the first chronographs with automatic movement, the A386 definitely belongs to the icons of all vintage watches. Between 1969 and 1971, Zenith produced only 2,500 pieces of the El Primero A386 in three versions - MK1, MK2 and MK3. Only a few have survived until today. The MK3 version can be identified by the following characteristics:
- case numbers between 861DXXX-862DXXX, 922DXXX-923DXXX or 231DXXX-233DXXX
- the NATO star on the case back
- the internal engraving of the caseback: "Zenith - Swiss made - Acier inoxidable - SP 1205". No Spillman number. The engraving is arranged circumferentially
- case has a groove at the edge (see pictures). The MK1 case edge is stepped and even without a groove.

The offered watch has ALL the mentioned characteristics (see pictures) and is therefore doubtless a MK3.

The chronograph features a stunning and unusual three-color dial with contrasting sub-registers and a central red second hand. All dial parts are original and in very good condition. The lume is 100% original. The only "flaws" to be called is the crown, which was replaced by an original Zenith crown from 1972, and a small scratch on the watchglass. But to be fair we should mention that the El Primero parts are relatively fragile and thus it is almost impossible to find a A386 in a completely original and at the same time mint condition. The stainless steel case is almost unpolished and shows only natural traces. The serial number 862DXXX is clearly readable on the caseback and can be traced back to the third production series (MK3).

Another fact that makes this offer so special is the famous Gay Frères Ladder Bracelet from 1971. The year of manufacture is engraved on the wristband (see pictures).

The originality of the parts and their excellent condition make the offered watch very special and desired. The chronograph leaves an unforgettable impression and feels as something special and unique on your wrist.
