Description
The Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Underline Radial Dial from 1963 with glossy dial, pointed crown guards (PCG) and faded pepsi bezel is a rare collector's item.

A special feature is the so-called underline dial. Due to the radioactivity of radium, watchmakers had to switch to tritium as luminous material at the beginning of the 1960s. Before the dials were marked with a "T" for tritium, Rolex temporarily printed a small line above the hour marker at 6 o'clock, which should indicate tritium lume. These special dials of the reference 1675 were produced only 1 year from 1962 to 1963 and are highly sought-after today.

Another rare feature is the smaller circle of luminous hour markers and the greater distance from the minute track. Such dials are referred to as "radial dials" and are highly sought-after by vintage Rolex collectors. When viewing a radial and non-radial dial at the same time, the mentioned difference is immediately visible. Another favored feature is the golden lettering of the glossy dial, where the name "gilt dial" comes from.

In general, gloss dials are highly fragile and very few have survived until today without any quirks. The light spotting on the dial reflect the natural aging process and prove the authenticity of this 55 years old watch and make it very honest. The original tritium luminescent has aged evenly and has a beautiful, creamy hue in the hour markers and hands. Furthermore, the faded pepsi bezel points up the cool vintage look of this watch. And if you still don't have enough of rare details, look at the beloved pointed crown guards (PCG), which were introduced with the reference 1675 and only existed until 1964.

This Rolex GMT 1675 has a great overall condition. The bezel is in excellent condition. The stainless-steel case still has a thick profile and sharp edges. The movement of this watch is the SCOC (Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified) Rolex caliber 1565. It is based on the caliber 1560, which was usually stamped on the movement bridge. All functions of the GMT have been checked and run flawlessly.

The Rolex GMT Master is the legendary pilot watch with significant history. This particular reference 1675 additionally offers many details vintage collectors are looking for.
