Tudor Oysterdate 79160 Big Block

SoldThe reference 79160 was added to the Tudor catalog in 1989. Like the previous reference 9400, it's called "Big Block". The reason for this name is the stainless steel case, which was built bigger and higher to provide enough space for the rotor of the automatic movement.
This particular example dates from 1992 and has a black dial with white sub-dials and a black tachymeter bezel. This black and white color combination offers a high recognition value. The dial bears the inscription "OYSTERDATE" at 3 o'clock and "AUTOMATIC-CHRONO TIME" above the 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock. The 30-minute counter of the chronograph is located 12 o'clock and the sub-second register is at 9 o'clock. The date is at 3 o'clock and can be set immediately using the quickset feature. The beautiful screw down chrono-pushers and the Rolex Triplock winding crown are robust and very aesthetically looking. The caseback is signed "Original Oyster Case By Rolex Geneva". The automatic movement of this Tudor is the Caliber Valjoux 7750. The movement is in perfect working order.
This Big Block Chronograph has been preserved in great condition and has few signs of usage on the case. The dial is just gorgeous and immaculate. The small scratches that you see on the photos are on the watchglass only. Also, the Oyster bracelet is in very good condition with only a few signs of wear. The bracelet has the correct reference number 78360 and 589 end pieces. The clasp is signed with the Tudor logo.
