SoldThe vintage edition of the legendary Rolex pilot's watch is one of the most popular collector pieces. Back in the 1950s it was the official wristwatch of the Pan American Airways pilots and today it is an undisputed vintage icon.
This particular example dates back to 1971 and offers a special touch many vintage collectors are looking for. The watch is in great overall condition. The stainless steel case has minimal signs of wear and sharp lugs. The matte black dial is absolutely flawless. The original luminous material in the hour markers and hands has never been restored and is completely intact.
The rotatable 24-hour bezel was originally blue and red. The blue part of the bezel has evolved into a beautiful and unique gray and white shadow and the red half to a bordeaux tone. It's hard to stay unimpressed by this Vintage GMT-Master.
The reliable 1575 caliber movement provides accurate timekeeping and ensures the motion of the 24-hour GMT-hand. The watch is accompanied by an Oyster bracelet, stamped 4/71 (4th quarter 1971).
