This pretty Precimax Aquamax Safety dates from the 1970s. Precimax is one of the small, less known Swiss watch manufacturers that disappeared due to the quartz crisis in the 1980s. While the makers are gone, the watches that they produced remain. Some of them are unique timepieces that we love to talk about today and to admire on our wrists.
This extraordinary Precimax Aquamax Safety is one of these timepieces. This diver's watch has a super compressor case with a diameter of 42mm. The twin crowns on the right side of the case show a typical crosshatch pattern that can be found on crowns of other well-known brands such as Longines. The inner bezel is turned using the upper crown, which has markings 0, 15, 30 and 45. And with the lower crown the movement can be wound and the time set.
The black dial has some striking elements such as the large tritium markers or the red and white 15-minute track between 9 and 12 o'clock. The hand set includes the eye-catching orange minute hand, a paddle second hand and an hour hand. The date is at 3 o'clock.
Overall, this vintage diving watch is in an honest and beautiful overall condition. The watch was used rarely according to its age and has natural signs of wear. The case has remained unpolished. The dial is absolutely clean and has no scratches or marks. The few scratches that you see in the photos are all on the crystal and not on the dial. The tritium lume is original in all elements and has a nice creamy color everywhere. The movement is caliber ETA 2782, which provides accurate timekeeping.
This vintage diver from a Swiss watch manufacturer is absolutely unbeatable in its price range. Attractive appearance, large case, perfect functionality and honest overall condition make this watch so rare and valuable.
