SoldNivada was founded in Grenchen, Switzerland in 1879, making it one of the oldest Swiss watch brands. In the late 1960s, Nivada produced unique and very successful chronographs. The Chronoking reference 87033 is undoubtedly one of them.
Nivada used the imposing model name "Chronoking Aviator Sea Diver" to emphasize that this watch can be used both in the air and under water. In fact, the Nivada Chronoking offers helpful attributes for pilots as well as for divers. The rotating bezel has large minute markings that make it easy to read the elapsed dive time. And on the other hand, a pilot can read a second time zone thanks to the small hours on the same rotating bezel. An absolutely impressive vintage timepiece.
This particular example is in dream condition. The complex dial with two mirrored sub-dials has been preserved perfectly. The original tritium lume in the hour markers shows a wonderful creamy patina. The tritium in the hands is also original. Another unusual and cool thing is the position of the date at 12 o'clock.
The 38mm stainless steel case still has a thick profile. The beveled lugs are intact. All engravings are sharp on the screw-down case back. The black bezel is normally very fragile and shows often scratches. With this specimen the bezel is absolutely perfect preserved without any scratches. The winding crown is original and bears the Nivada logo. The Chronoking movement is the reliable two-register calibre Valjoux 234. The functionality of the chronograph is impeccable and of course we guarantee it.
Overall, this Nivada Chronoking 87033 is an absolutely impressive timepiece with a complicated and attractive dial design and reliable movement. The excellent condition ensures a high collector's value of this killer chrono.
