Description
This is a highly attractive vintage Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 from 1970. The chronograph has a dark brown tropical dial and is accompanied by the original stainless steel bracelet.

The "Moonwatch" became famous on July 21, 1969, when Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon with an Omega Speedmaster on his wrist. This chronograph accompanied almost all NASA space missions and to this day enjoys its rightly deserved status of a legend.

Here you see reference 145.022 from 1970, every single part of which has remained original. A special feature of this watch is the stepped dial, which once was black and has turned into a dark-brown tropical dial due to natural aging and environmental influences such as sunlight and humidity. The serial number of the watch at hand also fits into the series range, where brown dials are most common. The brown discoloration is evenly distributed over the dial and gives the watch a very attractive and extraordinary look. The long hour markers have a brown-beige patina and are all perfectly preserved.

Another special feature of this Omega Speedmaster is the tachymeter bezel, which has been preserved in excellent condition without scratches. It is a DO90 bezel (dot over 90) with the white dot above the number 90. The black bezel insert is slightly faded and shows a tendency towards a dark blue color. The original acrylic has the small Omega logo in its middle.

The asymmetrical stainless steel case impresses with its thick profile, sharp edges and intact engravings on the case back. The correct reference number 145.022-69 ST can be found inside the case back cover. The winding crown is signed with the Omega logo. The Omega is powered by the automatic chronograph caliber 861. This movement is known for its robustness and reliability. The present chronograph runs flawlessly in all functions and ensures precise timekeeping.

And last but not least, this vintage Omega Speedmaster is accompanied by the original Omega stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet is in excellent condition to match the watch.

The fact that this Omega Speedmaster is over 50 years old is hard to believe given its excellent condition. A rare vintage chronograph with an important history, harmonious appearance and extremely reliable mechanics.
