The Heuer Montreal is a rare racing chronograph from the 1970s that is no longer in production today. In order to emphasize the close connection between the Heuer brand and motorsport, this chronograph was named after the beautiful city of Montreal, which is the home of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada since 1967.
The present wrist chronograph has a black dial with white and red accents and belongs to the first series of the Heuer Montreal reference 110.503. There are also versions with white and blue dials. With its unusual case and colorful dial, the Heuer Montreal is a worthy representative of the cool retro design of the 70s. The Montreal offers a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour totalizer, tachymeter and pulsometer scale and a date display at 6 o'clock.
The 42 mm case may seem a bit large at first glance, but the watch looks aesthetical on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear. The top surface of the case has a radial sunburst finish and shows no scratches worth mentioning. You won't find any scratches or other imperfections on the dial either. The tritium lume in all hour markers and hands is original and intact. The chronograph is powered by the automatic caliber 12 that can be recognized immediately due to its crown position at 9 o'clock. The movement was recently serviced and runs flawlessly.
This Heuer Montreal scores with its impressive looks, reliable mechanics and rarity. In contrast to other Heuer models such as Autavia, Carrera or Monaco, which have been reissued by TAG Heuer, there is no "modern" Montreal making this original vintage version even more exclusive and valuable.
