SoldThis is the gold version of the legendary Rolex diver. The dial was originally the same blue color as the rotating bezel. As a result of various environmental influences such as sunlight, over the years the dial turned into the unique purple that we can see today. The so-called Tropical Purple dial is extremely rare and therefore highly sought-after among vintage collectors.
The great overall condition makes this Submariner even more appealing to collectors. The dial has aged very evenly and has no stains or scratches. The tritium lume is original. The case has been slightly polished in the past, but still shows a thick profile and only minimal signs of wear. The blue bezel is preserved perfectly. The numbers between the lugs are legible. The automatic caliber 1570 operates reliably and keeps time very accurately.
This Submariner is accompanied by accessories from the year of sale. The original invoice shows that the watch was sold on May 21, 1973 in Vienna, Austria. There is also an extract from the chronometer certificate with punched reference number and serial number of the watch.
The original Oyster bracelet is also made of solid 18 carat yellow gold and is in very nice condition. The clasp has a diver extension.
