Here we offer you a rare Enicar vintage watch from the 1960s. This chronograph features an attractive grey dial that is absolutely flawless.
In the 1950s, Enicar began outfitting mountain climbers and other adventurers with its watches. A Swiss team of climbers wore Enicar watches to the top of Mount Everest in 1956.
Here you see a rare and unusual reference 2303 from the 1960s. One looks in vain for a model name on the dial of this watch. For this reason, the model is referred to as the Enicar "Garnix" (German for "nothing"). This watch is engraved with 072/003 on the case back, which is why this number is assumed to be the reference. However, the correct reference number is 2303.
This vintage chronograph is quite rare and extremely popular with collectors thanks to its balanced looks and reliable Valjoux 72 movement. Although the case diameter is "only" 36mm, the watch appears larger on the wrist thanks to the missing bezel. The highlight is the flawless gray dial with its three sub-registers, which stand out thanks to the darker outer rings. The hand set is another special feature of this vintage watch. The chrono seconds hand features a red lollipop tip. The hour and minute hands are filled with tritium lume and have thin orange tips. We love these minimalistic design features that create a special overall aesthetic on the steel gray dial.
