This rare 18k yellow gold Universal Genève Monodatic 100105 dates from the early 1950's and features a waffle dial and a roulette date disc.
The first UG Monodatic was produced in 1950. This particular example dates from around 1953 and offers an extraordinary look thanks to its rare and coveted waffle dial. The surface looks like a waffle, hence the nickname. The watch also features a "roulette" date with a black/red alternating date disc. The baton indices and the beautiful dauphine hands are made of solid yellow gold. The small sub-dial with running seconds at 6 o'clock has an elegant stepped indentation. The natural patina on the dial gives the watch an honest vintage look and makes it absolutely authentic.
The 18k yellow gold measures 36mm in diameter and sits very comfortable on the wrist.
