Description
This early manual-wound Heuer Carrera 2447ST is preserved in NOS condition and comes with its original box and hangtag.

Production of the first Heuer Carrera began in 1963. The famous manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72 was the heart of the classic racing chronograph. During its development, the main focus was on function, readability and clear optics. With its uncomplicated timeless dial housed in a round 36mm case, the early Carrera symbolizes the classic chronograph of the twentieth century. Its production came to an end in 1969, when the automatic Carrera with the cushion-shaped case was introduced.

This particular Heuer Carrera 2447 spent most of its lifetime in a safe. This is proven not only by the mint condition of the case and the flawless dial, but also by the original leather strap, which has meanwhile become dry, stiff and brittle. On top of that, the Carrera is accompanied by the original red Heuer box and the original hangtag. On the latter you can see the original selling price: 54000 Italian lira.

Summing-Up
Considering the short production time of about 6 years, the rarity of a manual-wound Carrera is obvious. In addition, a Carrera was not a collector's watch in the 1960s, but a tool watch that was regularly worn on the wrist. Finding one in unworn condition is almost a miracle. But that's not all: The present NOS example is also accompanied by original accessories. A pretty unique vintage piece.
