This Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms is one of the oldest and most famous diving watches in the entire watch history.
The timepiece was first produced in the mid-1960s for the combat swimmers of the West German Navy. What makes this model so special is its functionality and readability underwater without the use of radium lume, which was still standard at the time but was considered potentially harmful to health. The yellow and red "No Radiations" symbol on the dial of this watch indicates the absence of radium on the dial.
On the screw-down back of this Blancpain, you can see the military engravings "BUNDESWEHR" and the correct supply number.
On the wrist, the legendary diver's watch offers an impressive look. This is ensured by the large 40mm case, the wide black Bakelite bezel and the domed acrylic crystal.
