Brothers Albert and Gustave Scholz founded the Angelus Manufacture in 1891 in Le Locle, Switzerland. In the 1930s, Angelus specialized in military chronographs, which had large diameters and black galvanic dials. You can see a truly exceptional example here.
This Angelus military chronograph dates back to the 1950s and is extremely rare. The large 38mm stainless steel case with its beveled lugs and stepped bezel is perfectly balanced.
A highlight in itself is the black galvanic dial with its gilt print. At 12 o'clock, we see the rare oversized Angelus logo that immediately catches the eye. Not to be overlooked are the two large sub-registers. The 45-minute counter displays long red lines at three, six and nine minutes.
