SoldProduced since 1945, the Rolex Datejust is a timeless classic with a wide range of different dials housed in the elegant Oyster cases. Some of the vintage dials changed color due to the external influences like exposure to sunlight. This Rolex Datejust 1803, made in 1975 and sold in the UK in 1976, is a fantastic example of this rare phenomenon.
The dial, originally blue, has a rare purple patina that has developed over the years making the watch so charming today. In combination with the sunburst finish, the patina creates an enchanting play of light that is at its best in the sunlight.
The original Rolex warranty booklet is punched with the serial number and marked with the sale date of March 2, 1976. A tennis fan will also be pleased to see the place of sale: Wimbledon, London. The stamp of the seller A.E. Halfhide & Co. Ltd. can be seen in the warranty book. Halfhide, a family-run jeweler and watch dealer, had been based in Wimbledon for many years and stood for high quality.

Case: very rarely worn - intact Rolex sticker on the back - lugs with intact sunburst finish - legible numbers between lugs - engine turned stainless steel bezel.
Bracelet: original Rolex Jubilee bracelet - normal stretch - natural wear marks - clasp stamped 1/76 (first quarter 1976) - bracelet reference 62510H - end links 555.
