This 1940s Ulysse Nardin chronograph features a large 38mm case and a silver dial with stunning patina.
The highly regarded Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin started making its watches back in 1846. In the history books, the watch factory is mostly associated with its marine chronometers, but many vintage collectors and watch enthusiasts appreciate the rare Ulysse Nardin chronographs from the 1940s and 50s, which stand out in terms of design and flair.
This 1940s chronograph enchants with its large, excellently preserved 38mm case with faceted lugs and a beautiful silver dial with gold hour markers and hands. The dial features a blue telemeter scale and a blue snail scale. A true and legit vintage look is due to the natural patina of this 80 year old wristwatch.
The flat bezel makes the 38mm stainless steel case, which is considered very large for the time, appear even larger and more present on the wrist. The watch is powered by the reliable Valjoux 22 and offers two integrated sub-registers with a 30-minute counter as well as a running seconds sub dial.
A rare and beautiful design feature are the olive chrono pushers. They are a variant of the rectangular pushers with an elliptical shape that resembles an olive. Due to their rarity, olive pushers are becoming more popular.
