The perfectly balanced dial of this 1974 example has a perfect matte finish and a beautiful bright luminous color. The original Oyster bracelet ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. The original Rolex sticker can still be seen on the case back. The watch was sold in Seville, Spain, on October 23, 1989 - as evidenced by the original Rolex chronometer certificate. The watch is also accompanied by a Rolex Explorer brochure in Spanish, a warranty translation and a Rolex leather card holder.

About Rolex Explorer
The first Explorer was introduced in the 1950s and looks back on a long tradition. Even the model name reveals that this watch embodies the spirit of adventure and discovery. Rolex presented the Explorer to commemorate the 1953 ascent of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who were equipped with a Pre-Explorer during this historic expedition. Since then, the Explorer has been synonymous with a wristwatch that can withstand extreme conditions. In 1963, the iconic reference 1016 was introduced, which was produced until 1989 and is now one of the most important classics among vintage collector's watches.
