The vintage chronograph Heuer Autavia 1163 Siffert from the early 1970s embodies the golden age of motorsport. Known as the "Siffert-Autavia" — named after the legendary Formula 1 driver Jo Siffert, who wore this iconic panda version with its distinctive date window at 6 o'clock — the watch today enjoys a special cult status among collectors and motorsport enthusiasts.
A total of six different dial variations were produced for the Siffert Autavia. The model offered here features the final and particularly coveted MK6 dial, characterised by blue accents at the indices and hand tips, as well as a 1-through-12 hour recorder.
The dial is in excellent condition, with an authentic and even white-graine patina that enhances its vintage charm. This is complemented by a well-preserved tachymeter bezel and the original cream tritium lume on the hands and hour markers.
A further highlight is the rare Gay Frères beads-of-rice bracelet, a sought-after collector’s item that stylishly completes the timepiece.
Inside, the watch is powered by the Heuer Automatic Caliber 11i, an improved version of the legendary Caliber 11. The case features a small triangular hallmark under the lug, a signature detail of automatic Autavias with the Caliber 11i.
All in all, this is an exceptional and rare collector's piece, sure to delight connoisseurs of classic chronographs and motorsport enthusiasts alike.
