We are thrilled to offer this exceptionally rare and historically significant Rolex Datejust 4467, housed in a rose gold case from 1946.
Reference 4467 was introduced in 1945 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Rolex and marked the beginning of the legendary Datejust series. As the world's first automatic wristwatch with a date function, it set new standards and at the same time established the characteristic, finely fluted bezel that remains a trademark of the Datejust to this day.
What makes this watch a real treasure, however, is its rare rose gold case combined with an early serial number. It is not only the first Datejust reference, but also the first production batch from 1946. The serial numbers of this first batch are between 4604xx and 4606xx, which corresponds to a maximum of 200 examples produced - assuming that every single case was actually used. Experts assume that only around 10% of this series was made in rose gold and the rest in yellow gold. This means that there are probably no more than 20 rose gold Datejusts of this first reference.
The dial of this impressive watch has a beautiful, authentic patina - a worthy testimony to its almost 80-year history. Every subtle nuance tells of times gone by and lends the watch an incomparable charm.
The dial of this remarkable watch showcases a stunning, authentic patina - a reflection of its nearly 80-year history. Each delicate detail whispers stories of the past, adding to the watch's timeless allure and unique character.
