This is a rare automatic Heuer Autavia 112.603 from 1983 with an attractive gray PVD case. The six-digit Autavia references, which also included black and green versions, mark the end of an era: these are the last Autavia models that Heuer produced before going bankrupt due to the quartz crisis.
The Heuer Autavia 112.603 features a PVD-coated stainless steel case in an elegant gray. This special pewter coating gives the watch its unusual appearance. Unlike most examples, where the coating shows clear signs of wear after decades of use, this model impresses with an greatly preserved surface.
The dial is in a matching shade of gray and features two sub-dials and a date window. The minute track stands out with its characteristic black stripes. Combined with the rotating bezel and the striking gray padded case, the result is an unmistakable design.
A cool watch for enthusiasts who appreciate not only racing chronographs, but also unusual design and are on the lookout for rare collector's items.
